CCE Beta tester positions/applications

We currently have 3 slots open to people who are willing to BETA test anything the CCET sends out.

Current game engine testers:
1) Domecillo
2) RaptorKiller2
3) No one

Current tool/app testers:
1) Zirgon
2) RaptorKiller2
3) No one

To apply you must also agree with the following:

In downloading BETA software I have agreed not to lay blame to the creators for any harm it causes my hardware/software if any.
I will not release any of the private content/discussions to the public unless given explicit permission by a member of the CCET.

We would like you to post your computer specs, and to also tell us about any experience you have with programming in C++, we are always open to a helping hand

I would apply but my computer sucks, I have an 80 gig HD and 192 MB of ram lol. I need a new computer

The RAM should be more than enough for C2 XD You can test if you really want. I wasn't asking for Next-Gen specs you know. Afterall, my PC is pretty bad itself.

See, you don't need to have fantastic skills to be a BETA tester. ^_^

id love to be a beta tester, at least for apps. not so much for the game. mostly the modding tools if thats okay...

Well I guess I will "try" and be a tester. I mean... I can't even watch youtube videos properly. I might get like 3 frames per second watching a video. (Though it does depend what video it is.) Some videos run half decent on my computer. When I play Carnivores 2 it gets really choppy if I am in an area that is flooded with trees. But come to think about it, the early CCE that was released runs much better than C2 does. Diablo 2 runs almost perfectly unless a ton of monsters are on screen.

So I guess sign me up and if it is running slowly on my computer I will let you know and you can give the position to someone else.

A BETA Tester is someone that tests the engine before it gets released to public. meaning you guys get a sneak peak at the engine/anything special.

Hmm strange... I've never heard of that. Heck I never even saw a string in the CCE source code that even hints at that...

I'll test the game itself if that's alright. I agree with most of the rules you wrote. The only thing I'm concerned about is the damage it might cause??? Now, what damage will be cause and to what? Just curious.

I'll go back and see what's up with C:CE and post the exact error.

it's there to say that any problems that it may cause, it doesn't mean it will because I always run the game on my computer before I release it. It's a habit I got into after I heard about some poor sap losing his computer to a BETA that corrupted special files...

Can you help at all with this?

Is that an error popup or a log?

It's an error popup. It appears once the "Hunt" button is clicked.

Also, no dinosaurs appear as a choice to hunt. I checked everywhere but can't find the problem.

Have any ideas?

1. What menu are you using (Carnivores or mine)?
2. Where did you get the beta and how did you install it (post the exact path to the application)?

1.) I am using your menu.

2.) Well, I downloaded the File System that Seisosaur posted on "The Carnivores Saga." Then I downloaded your pre-beta (alongside Seis's File System) and extracted it within the Carnivores C:CE folder I created on my desktop.

Note: All three of my Carnivores games are on my desktop. I just copied the Carnivores 2 folder and extracted the file system first and then the pre-beta.

When was my pre-beta from? Strange error message.

BTW, the beta uses seis' fs, so there is no need to install it.

In fact, the current beta is stand alone

I'm not too sure on the date I got the beta but it is on your profile, up for download.

So, do I keep the System File for the release of the next beta or should I reinstall it?

I have full version for all my games including Carnivores 1, 2 and IA on CD (C1 is a little banged up though). I'm not like that. I spent some good money on those CD's.

As have I, and the Menu/CCE that ADP has released does tend to cause quite a bunch of problems >_< don't worry about it man. And check out the BETA Testers section for your first assignment.
