Are you up for this idea?
Carnivores DS
Now before you go scouring the internet I suggest you read this topic.
I was sniffing around the internet and I stumbled upon a toolkit that allows programmers to make Nintendo DS games. (Known as Homebrews)
At first I was a little skeptical since I didn't want to learn a whole new language but I was soon excited about making my own DS game, see you use the toolkit with a C++ IDE (the kit comes with Notepad++ and it works perfectly on that IDE already) and program the DS games in C/C++! I have already made a simple 3D terrain system, and I was thinking it might be possible to port over a more primitive version of Carnivores CE to the DS.
Since we'll only be converting C2 code to a suitable DS set up, it won't be as hard, or hard at all in comparison to CCE.
Notes:
The DS uses OpenGL programming for graphics, there are some special functions that appear only in this toolkit.
The DS has... I think it's 8 Mb of RAM, and 4 Mb of tRAM so we'd need to balance out textures, world and model data evenly.
The setup of the DS allows us to play with WiFi and wireless connections (short range communications) meaning we can have online multiplayer or co-operative short range communications
Not only that but the DS would be a great way to learn how to program with limitations in mind, programming with no visible barrier is a dangerous thing (as the Bungie team learned with Halo 2)
So if you are interested or know anyone who has a flash cart for their DS system, is a programmer (or willing to learn), could work with graphics, models, etc then please step up or ask them! All help would be appreciated and the number of people interested/signing up will determine if this project ever kicks off from the ground.
Please use the thread to discuss this topic,

Re: Carnivores DS
You could use an emulator if you don't or can't get a DS of course I don't support emulators except for extinct consoles ^^;
Yeah! Actually... contest time!
Okay peeps, let's make menu backgrounds for the DS version (so I can program the actual game ) we need a Hunt menu, the title screen (try to keep it C2 styled if possible, but keep in mind these specs and such.
Nintendo DS specifications.
screens: 256x192 pixels
4 Mb mobile RAM (mRAM)
8-bit and 16-bit colors supported (only)
Touch screen (DUH! REMEMBER THIS!)
We will be using the touch screen to navigate the menus and the top screen is the 3D scene.
I'm making some mock images, and templates for this so they'll be uploaded hopefully within an hour.
EDIT:
Okay, here's the title screen mock/template:

Go for it. I like the idea. It makes me feel at home that you thought of doing this. (Since I spend a lot of time with rom hackers and homebrewers myself.)

Re: Carnivores DS
Okay, I have a gun model almost done... it's as low detail as possible because I still don't quite know if the engine will be powerful enough to handle the gun, dinos, trees and the ground fast enough... tests will see... but I do have high hopes after playing Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS... jeez that game is hi-detailed for a DS game. The Arm Cannon must be at least 600 triangles...
