Carnivores 3D Editor (C3Dit)
Yeah I got to work on the entire thing the other night, and in about 6 hours I came up with this by using my TPM Editor's engine as a Base.
@machf: If you ever come on again and see this, then yeah it's the same GUI, hell it's good looking anyway.
C3Dit has finally surpassed machf's editor! HURRAY!
These screens show the vertex and triangle selection I've finally got to work ^^ we can now select multiple triangles and give them all the same flag!

- I've gone and remade the control scheme, it absolutely boots the old C3dit in the butt.
- Added a Render scene feature which will support the placement of .RSC objects when I can load them too.
- The loading code is optimized and much neater than before, so it should run a smidgeon faster now.
- I've started working on a DLL specifically designed to deal with Carnivores editing. Once it's done anyone can take it and use it in their own editing tools. What it will do is be able to extract texture, sound and animation data and either pass it into the tool or save it externally. (C3Dit will make use of the external features)

Hey, you know what would be extremely useful for CCE for updated graphics? A polygon baking function, where you can make a hi resolution model by using a fractla function to add more polygons to the model, making it smoother.

I like that idea! (BTW, I love the forum! So new and modern. However, we need a "Forum Management" section with a "Suggestions and criticisms" thread )

Like I said on MSN, it requires a fractal and GameMaker is useless with loops. Wait and see if I can get such a feature working in this DLL.
Done and done ^^

Okay, I can now extract Textures and Wav's... problem is the textures are flipped upside down >_< I dunno if that's normal, because I can't remember if machf flips the Buffered Bytes in CAR/3DF editor...

Turns out the texture flipping is for the better ^^ my god it's for the better.
That's a successfully exported .OBJ file.

I'm still hoping for a pinch and pull method. putting in Numbers I find tedious and at times I don't know what will happen if I put in the wrong numbers. I hope you have an Undo button or undo hotkey (Ctrl+z is usually the default hotkey for undo in most programs.) if you have one I might forget about harassing you about the pinch and pull feature that I wanted. (I'm serious yet playing with you at the same time XD)

Re: Carnivores 3D Editor (C3Dit)
Okay, I managed to manually load (via random BETA code) the death animation of the Allosaurus and let it play in C3Dit it was awesome to watch.
I'm going to fully implement animation previewing and a way to inject data into a file stream.

Re: Carnivores 3D Editor (C3Dit)
That's great. here's a suggestion. You could implement a method of animation editing by allowing the player to click and drag the animation movements. Each time they alter something on the animation and press a button it saves the animation frame so you can move onto the next. Sort of like stop motion filming. Then after the person finishes the animation he can set the sound effects and various other features. Then the program takes the recorded animation frames and applies them to the file. After that the user can then save the new data to the .Car file. This is my solution. I'm still learning Java but eventually I hope to have a good grasp on it so I can move onto C++. Hell I could start now if I wanted to.

Re: Carnivores 3D Editor (C3Dit)
Well I was actually thinking that once I get vertex movement in there, I could allow users to move a vertex and when you move the vertex on the model, it also moves that vertex in ALL of the animations.
